Aron...A Chapter by DeepshikhaYes, I know it's mostly dialogue. Bear with me, people.“You can't catch me!” I yelled running through the marketplace as fast as I could. “Oh yes I can!” yelled my older brother Jakal. I sped up and looked behind me and “WHAM!” I accidentally ran into Aron. And he caught me in his arms. “Watch where you're going. I have work to do.” Aron said looking me straight in my brown-green eyes. “Then do it.” I replied gazing back into his sky blue eyes. I heard a distant voice and Aron gently got me back on my feet. “Like I said before, I have work to do.” “Need any help?” I asked. “Not if you're going to be helping in pants.” he said chuckling. I sighed and said, “You're going to old lady Narkar's house, right?” “Yep, and if you wanna come, meet me here in 10 minutes.” “Wouldn't miss it.” I said as I started running back home. But Aron grabbed my hand and added, “Actually wear a skirt this time.” “I will.” And truly started running back home. “And make it your best one!” I heard him yell. On the way back I ran into Jakal. “Where in Ra'bel's name have you been? I've been looking all over!” he yelled. “Jeez, I ran into Aron.” I said. “Oh,” he said raising his right eyebrow, “Since you're my youngest and only sister, I should be mad. Right?” “Uh, right?” I said confused. “Good, but I'm not. Aron's a nice guy.” he said as he sent me on my way. “What was that about?” I said and started back home. Sheesh, I thought, For a twenty-four year old guy, he sure was fatherly. When I got back home to our little stone cottage I ran up to my room and quickly put on my blue silk skirt and a white embroidered blouse. When I ran out the door, I ran into Aron again, but this time he caught me by the waist and said, “You look beautiful.” “Beautiful?” I asked. “Yes, beautiful.” “You've got to be kidding me, stupid!” I punched him and ran towards the marketplace. “Hey, wait up!” he yelled as he ran after me. As I ran I thought about Aron. He was of 17 flia and was tall, muscled, and well, handsome. He had dreamy sky blue eyes, ears like the mystical Alva (like me!), and blond hair that went down to his eyes. I also knew that he actually had a fan club. But what I didn't know was why he was acting like he actually liked me. Aron soon caught up with me and we stopped in front of a poster that had just been put up. “You and your loved one are invited to a formal Le'kar on the 1st of Isa'bella. Courtesy of the Royalties of The People.” I read aloud. “The 1st of Isa'bella?” asked Aron frowning, “Isn't that your birthday?” “Oh my gosh, it is!” I exclaimed. “This will be so much fun! Now, if only I had someone to go with.” “You always have me.” “Are you asking me to go to this Le'kar?” “Possibly.” “Hey!” exclaimed a voice from behind us. “Hey Kara!” I said and hugged my best friend. “Hi Aron.” Kara said with a smirk. “Hello Kara,” Aron said and he turned back to me. “So, what do you say?” “About what?” “Ya Ar about what?” “Abou-” “OH MY GOSH!! JAYA YOU'RE IN A SKIRT!!” Kara exclaimed. “Kara,” I said raising my eyebrows, “so are you. Big whoop.” “But you never wear skirts!” “So?” “As I was saying,” interrupted Aron, “Will you go to the Le'kar with me?” “Jaya, did he just ask you what I thought he did?” asked Kara bewildered. “Yes I did.” “You do realize that Alyse will positively murder you.” Kara said in a squeaky voice. “And why will Alyse, um, murder you Jaya?” “Because,” I replied, “Lyse is, um, uh-” “What am I Jaya?” asked Alyse popping up from nowhere. “Oh hi Aron. Did you hear about the Le'kar? My mom wants me to go but she only trusts one suitable partner for me. And that's You.” “Alyse, I'm-” “Let me finish, Aron.” Kara butted in.“Lyse, we're so sorry to say this, but-” “I'm going with Aron.” I finished. “What?!?!?” Lyse exclaimed. “You can't possibly go with, with her!” “Why can't I go with Jaya?” “Because she's, she's not me!” and Alyse ran off crying. “She is such a baby.” was all Kara could say. “Jaya we'd better head to Narkar's.” Aron said as the clock tower rung 12. “Okay. See ya Kara!” “Good luck Jay!” Kara replied winking. And Aron grabbed my hand we went.
