youthA Poem by Deepshikhayouth like smoke slipping through my hands tendrils curling around my fingers teasing losing trying to grasp what might have been mine the dreams the laughter the endless wishing and wanting exaggerated but unbound delight swept away by cruel words empty promises broken truths and vapid efforts; like holy water rushing to wash away sin-- as if life were a sin! and now that the smoke is cleared my hands hold on to nothing but air and unyielding failures teasing losing realizing the dreams are grey and the laughter hollow-- no more than smoke but much less all the same
