Christmas Gets Ruined

I’m going to tell you a story,
A sad one so as to say,
About a poor girl who was unhappy
Last year, on Christmas day.

While other kids were so joyful
And ran about acting mad,
She sat alone and watched
With a face so gloomy and sad.

Every other child she knew
Got a turn on Santa Claus’s knee
While she was left alone
Beneath a large green Christmas tree.

That poor girl knew of a secret,
A secret so terribly vile,
That cast a curse upon her
And forbid the poor girl from a smile.

She knew the secret of Christmas,
That Santa is a fake
And as she was only a child
She found it hard to take.

Christmas was never the same.
It was filled with misfortune and gloom
And tears would roll down her cheek
As the sound of carols filled the room.

Never tell your children
That secret that isn’t true
Because now we can both agree that
It’s a terrible thing to do!
