I asked him once if it bothered him that she still loved him after all these years.
His response was “I was willing to share her when he was still alive, I don’t mind sharing her still. We’ve been together for fifty years. I know how she feels about me and I know how she felt about him. I stopped being jealous of a dead man long ago. We’ve built a life together, we raised a child together, then a granddaughter together and still after all this time she makes my breath hitch the same as it did the first day she walked into my office. I wanted her so bad back then that I hated her. No one could take their eyes off of her and it wasn't because of how damned pretty she was. She had more balls than any man in that building. She didn’t care about what people thought and she still doesn’t. Tell you the truth she didn’t care what I thought either and that just made me want her more. She’s the realist person I’ve ever known. I appreciate the fact that she’s never hid her feelings about him. She gets sad about him sometimes, sad about what they had, what she lost, and she thinks about it for a little while, but then I’m here and the sadness leaves and she sees all we’ve done together and I know she’s happy.”
This is a very beautiful expression of love's first grip never quite subsiding, but joining hands with another love, and being at peace with one another. This is a great start to what could be a passionate love story. You could add the loss of her first love, the office scenes, her connection and first reactions with the one she is now with, they she fell in love with both of her loves, explaining characters, setting and adding scenes, ect. This is a great start. Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.

I'm currently looking to expand and stretch my writing skills. In the past I was too scared to post my work anywhere because I was afraid of feedback. Now I'm trying to welcome it. more..
