We Were Ten

We Were Ten

A Poem by NMH

Same direction we walked
We didn't so much as talk
Arrived at my street
Stopping for I know not what
A shy peck on my cheek
Gave me quite a surprise
Your scurrying feet
Quick to run away
And still we did not speak
