My Imagination

In my head 

I imagine the void that occupies my heart, 

Is filled and over-flowing with your love. 

I imagine 

That when I'm feeling down, 

You do everything to make me smile again 

Even if it makes you look silly. 

I imagine 

That after a long day at work, 

I can breathe easy knowing that I'm coming home to you and that beautiful smile. 

I imagine 

That with all the frogs I've kissed, 

I've finally found my prince charming in you.

I imagine 

When we make love,

Its not just a physical connection 

But an emotional one also. 

I imagine 

My finger surrounded, 

By a ring that you chose 

Knowing it will fit my personality perfectly 

Because you know me so well.

I imagine 

Professing our love for each other, 

In front of the ones closet to our hearts 

With vows of truth and promises of everlasting love. 

I imagine 

Me with wrinkled skin and gray hair, 

You smiling and saying I'm still beautiful 

As you tell our grandkids our love story. 

By in the end 

These are details of a story, 

That is yet to be written or told

Because it's only my imagination.
