Perfect Wonder

Perfect Wonder

A Poem by Natasha Ashway

 photo closedeyes.jpeg

In our wonderland for lovers
The wonderland we find,

 photo boat.jpeg

We begin with touch
When we close our eyes

 photo Island.jpg

Bringing every need and feeling along
To slide on skin, sharing warmth, quieting hunger,

 photo tunnel.jpeg

Pulling dreams
Up to the surface of things

 photo painting.jpeg

Out of sleeves, and bridles,
As we rise -

 photo Moonlight.jpg

To meet in moonlight
To stars and stars, and Us
Naked beach, open water, and our longing
Caressed and heightened by all the sparkling lunar luminescence in sight

 photo starlight.jpeg

Drinking, savoring the wine
Of delicious body meets body, delicious mind meets mind,
Tasting, breathing, rising,
Higher and higher

 photo lunar.jpeg

And when the drumming surrounds us
Thundering heartbeats, ours,
It is Perfect Wonder
To fall seamlessly into the rhythm,

 photo shore.jpeg

Into ourselves
And the sky inside -

 photo dolphinsunset.jpeg

Every journey, every change
Every moment without
Fixing into place
Coming alive
Exploding like dynamite -

 photo imageslovers.jpeg

For as the world around turns on its axis
We turn on our love

 photo yinyang.jpeg

A spinning sanctum
Where heaven and earth kiss over and over
And in moments all our days and nights collide.
