Lyric Poem: Darkness

Lyric Poem: Darkness

A Poem by Nathaniel Lufkin
"

A class assignment to pick out a phrase from each of the songs chosen by other classmates based on the songs chosen, many came out like this The original lines are mostly intact but a few are edited

"

in the daylight

we’ll be on our own

cause my life is filled with darkness

with no distraction to mask what is real

it’s only you and I

we understand there is no pain

if we’re only ever looking back

we will drive ourselves insane

only if heaven and hell decide

then darkness has a hunger that’s insatiable

and lightness has a call hard to hear

and some poor soul got it way worse than me

A noble message indeed. The stanzas hold a individual elegance. However, the poem has no whole connection. Losing its quality of amazement one would relate to " darkness". Do make more.

I agree with the other comments, but I think it's really cool that you used "darkness" to try to connect the lyrics!

I agree, each stanza is great on its own, but together they don't work for me

This poem has a great flow with it in each part, but to me it lacks the flow in the whole poem.
