Sailor and the Storm

Sailor and the Storm

A Poem by MrMojoRisin

Sitting on the precarious precipice
Between man and nature
Uncertainty and rage
Life and death
Alcohol-induced anger boils his blood
As the dark clouds loom over him
He feels God's tenacious touch
Trapping his feeble body against the cold metal floor
Bullet-rain stings
Barge-wind howls
He cannot hear himself scream
His vivid voice is vague against the roaring sea
There races God
Unforgivingly
He stands on her highest point with open arms and feels mother nature's immense, raw strength eroding him to the bone
He is man
Man is nobody
Darkness rushes, but time is patient
He loves the rolling thunder so near
He loves the gusting wind and fear
He sees God drawing near
Riding the final frontier
Come the storm
Come the sea
Come the lightning
The bitter energy
He closes his eyes
He's ready to die
To be swept into the sea
As deep as the sky
He let's go
