A Chapter by carla

they had riden for the rest of the day in silence with only the sound of the forest and their horses' hoves on the dirt ground. night fell on them all too quickly. they set up camp and abidan took the first shift to stand gaurd, for this part of the forest was the most dangerous. after an hour or so of not being able to sleep neftali gave up and looked up at the star-filled night sky, the moon was shinning, illuminating the clearing they had set up camp in. she sighed and began to think about what awaited her, she had calculated that they would be at the palace by tomorrow afternoon. she couldn't help but wonder what her uncle could possibly have to tell her.

suddenly, she was brought back into reality by the quiet snoring of abidan. she looked over at where he was sitting, he was leaning against a large rock his head down, he was probably tired, not being used to the long day of riding without rest would, wearout any who wasn't used to it. she sighed again and got up, grabbed an extra blanket and walked over to him and covred him with it. she then took perch on the top of the rock and closed her eyes and sent out her senses into the forest. nothing but the sounds of the wind and small forest animals is out there.

she opens her eyes and looks up at the sky. 'what ia awaiting me?' she sighes and once again sends out her senses for she won't be going to sleep for a while.

*********

"Aron" a voice penetrated the haze of sleep that was still lingering over neftali.

"what?" her voice was a little horse as she answered abidan

"should we head out now or wait untill the sun is fully out and about?" this made neftali fully open her eyes. it was still fairly early, the sun wasn't fully illuminating the sky yet.'perfect.'

"yes lets head out."

*******

They rode non-stop all through the afternoon and finally the palace came into view. its beautiful magestic towers, that reached towards the skies, were the first to greet them. it has been so long since neftali had been to the palace that the pureity of the white walls and beautiful gardens that surounded it shocked her.

"who calls!" a gaurd shouted from his post in the wall.

"messanger abidan and warrior Aron!" abidan called back before neftali could stop him.

"Aron?!" neftali could already imagine the gaurd's shocked face.

the gate opened and no other Ithai was standing there.

"Aron!" his voice was laced with a sort of humor neftali knew all to well

"Ithai..." she didn't know what to say to him. not seeing him in so long and yet he still hadn't changed.

"sir" abidan bowed and was turned to leave before neftali grabbed him by the forearm.

"wait i may need of you" she glanced a Ithai then back to abidan "please stay" she asked sincerly for she didn't want to be alone with Ithai, not now.

"as you wish miss Aron" he bowed and acted all serious and formal. why?

"well your uncle is not able to have visits right now, he's sleeping , so how about this messanger boy shows you around and then i will see at dinner." with that he turned and left. neftali wanted to beat him silly. he thought so highly of himself that he spoke "messanger boy" with a sting that she saw abidan flinch.

"what would you like to see first Aron?" neftali turned from glaring daggers at Ithai to see abidan smiling and in a more relaxed stance. he was probably acting so formal because of Ithai. she smiled back.

"call me neftali, between us i hate being called aron." he nodded and beamed as if he had just been crowned king. this made nefatli laugh.

"so what do you want to see?" he finally asked. nefatli thought for a second

"surprise me" she said and followed abidan as he led her away from the gates and back into the world she thought forgotten.

There are a few spelling errors and some errors in sentence structure but overall you do a really good job of bringing the reader into the story and really setting the scene. If you clean up the few grammatical errors this part of the story will be near perfect.
Nice Job.
