Religion Unveiled

Religion Unveiled

A Poem by Addict With a Pen
"

A redo of my poem "My Personal Religion" but this time it's in Shakespearean Sonnet form

"

I don’t believe in God above, but her

affection brought me straight to heaven.

Her green tea eyes - matcha to quench my thirst;

He chose to bless me with her presence.

No priest in church has ever heard my sins,

but here I clutch her like a rosary.

Her nectarous scent - it pulls me in

and her silken hands are sanctuary.

Perhaps this love will soon come to an end,

and tears will fall from her cherubic gaze.

Angel sent home - but me, He will condemn.

And as I fall, I’ll look - to Her - and pray.

My religion unveiled within Her kiss

-now, She's the only God I know exists.

Wonderful poem. So touching and forlorn. I love the art of words for we as storytellers know our works are never truly complete. I can't tell you how many times I have gone back to something I have written only to redo the work and for it to be something brand new. Life is like that, so to our art. It is in forever Flux even after we reveal it. Thank you for sharing your work.
