A Poem by Nastia

What a fire burns inside. Taking a toll on the wonderful ride. Releasing a passion that is so strong, heating the world that seems so cold. What a life I chose to live, following no one, hearing nothing. Walking with my head up high, looking for the star that will guide my way to where I once belonged. Here I stand at the foot of your kingdom, crying, weeping for you to accept the mistakes I make, for you to forget the past and make my future. What a wonder it is to see you so close but know you are so far. I beg for forgiveness and yet I know it will not come, for what I do will stay a scar on my burning heart and my falling soul. I need not say what is in my heart for neither I nor you will understand the language it speaks. Where do I go with my useless thoughts, what do I do with my clueless soul, what do I do to make you see that you are the only one for me.. Shall I give you a piece of a heart so broken? Or shall I scatter what is left? Do you see the hurt I have caused, as it is I that never felt, that never cared. I understand your worry, I understand your fear, but take me back and I will be all that you need me to be. All that your heart desires and all that your mind cannot see, I don’t deserve it I now see so take my heart and let me be.  Speak to me in a tongue that only my heart will understand. Rescue it from its shameless ruins, take it away from my soulless body, save my heart from the things that hurt. Take it where you want to go. Leave me behind looking for a soul. I need not see you for so long as you hold my heart in your tender arms I shall not despair.

I always love how you integrate questions into the storytelling, almost always for the benefit of your readers. This makes it all the more relatable as the element of monologue makes us realise our similarities.

You are wonderful! Keep writing.
