Emptiness

Emptiness lingers, quietness grows,
No warmth, no place my spirit knows.
I wait for a knock at my heart's closed door,
But silence echoes forevermore.

Each day I stand by the endless shore,
Hoping for someone to seek me, restore.
The waves return, yet no one comes,
And I’m left with the sound of the sea’s soft hums.
