Sinking Down & Up

Sinking Down & Up

A Poem by N.A.

I avoid myself

Every empty hallway

of myself

The corners of it

walls bent down

Going up and up

People have no idea

He’s made me so miserable

and so happy

I’m starting to question

Why I chose any human

He’s dead

He’s very dead

Counting beads

As they drop

He left a bag at my doorstep

Then he was gone

That was the first first time

and then it was gone

All while I was asleep

I was surprised

When he told me

He misses me

But it’s not enough

It’s very broken now

He lied without

Knowing it

And it still sinks

Down to the bottom

Or to the top

Too lost to know if lost
