Echos

Echos

A Poem by Naraly Godinez
"

I hear me. But do you ?

"
Burning in solitude and aching deep within my thoughts .
My words blurred
Slurred in your mind and mine as well
Speaking to an empty crowed, covered in dust.
Opaque blankets
heavier than most of my memories which recount endless repetitions
overuse of stories and words.
Rusting emotions .
Sliver of phrases that get lost in the hay stack.
There I crawl and scratch at my mind
biting and gnawing me from all my desperate angles
Angles of attention and fulfillment towards my own need of attention.
Drowning in a series of periods that turn into dots
Dots which mark the eyes of the commas
Commas that morph into fish .
They swim deeper than their lungs will allow until they burst into remnants of the past buried away beneath the soil and molten lava
There they burn to ashes .
And it's not until then
the ocean decides to listen
to the aching thoughts .
Thoughts that now echo
within the crashing waves

A very unique, well written piece. Love the imagery, and wisdom behind this piece.
The only thing you might consider changing is the one line that stands out longer then the rest, perhaps break it up into two. Other than that....well done, my friend. Favorited.

I'm not sure what to say about this except that it is excellent and that it deserves more views!
It's one of the more unique poems I've read on here. Great work!
