A Poem by naomi marie

We held our heads high
Waved our flags above our children's eyes
And waited for the ships to roll in
Victory instilled in their sight.
As we took what we did not own:
Lives, land, wives and homes...
All in the name of order.
All in the same, we cowered.

Well either kings are gods or men are beasts
The way we follow and let them lead
Well if I have one defense, one defense,
Its to give a damn.
Just to give a damn.

We let our gaurd down
Held on to freedomo and heard what the wind found out
Across a boarder and a sea
That many of our own are guilty.
As we allow for all their young to die,
Leave their women widowed and tired
All in the place of peace
Always we leave the changeless least of these.

Well either kings are gods or men are beasts
The way we follow and let them lead
Well if I have one defense, one defense,
Its to give a damn.
Just to give a damn.

And you wont find me,
Fightin on a front line
Unless you've found out an enemy
Greater than our own complacency and pride.
