A New Decade

A New Decade

A Poem by Nancy Martin
"

Thought of a passing year

"
Four more days, before the change

Some things in life, I'll rearrange

Another decade passed

The time it leaves me, very fast

A promise made, in days gone by

No more I'll grieve, no more I'll cry

If love and life, leaves me dry

I raise my eyes, up to the sky

I'll lift my hands, and praise the day

My lips will sing, the praise this way

My life may not be, what I wished

But I can't mourn, for all I missed

My eyes have seen, my lips have kissed

No regrets, I'll leave this world

My heart and soul, will be unfurled

Nobody, will I despise

No tears, will leave my eyes

Forgive the ones, who broke my heart

A new sunrise, a brand new start

Some will say, I grew so old

I know, the truth be told

Each passing day, in my heart I'll hold

For each is silver, or it's gold
