Dress UpA Poem by Nancy Martinmemory of when my daughter was young
Velvet and lace... makeup on her face
Curlers in her hair... clothes scattered everywhere Nylons with runs... jewels, rings, and things Twinkle in her eye.... for the happiness it brings The royal gown.... brings a frown Some safety pins... the fun begins Hi heel shoes, that are to large.... A balancing act takes place The picture of it in my mind... could never be replaced My little girl is my world.... her life has just begun For now she walks.... until she learns to run
