Justin's LullabyA Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
Justin's Lullaby In honor of my first grandchild Justin David Now 19 years old Hush baby Justin don’t you cry Grandma’s gonna to sing you a lullaby Sing you to sleep so you can dream away Of toy balloons and a brand new day You were sent from heaven above Just for your grandma to love The good Lord sent down a bundle of joy To be his grandma’s baby boy So hush baby Justin Grandma’s here I’ll sing softly in your ear Sing you a song so you won’t cry And you’ll go to the land of lullaby Lullaby land is a beautiful place It’ll put smiles upon your face Laughter rings on every shore When you go through that magic door The magic door will open wide Toy balloons on every side Rainbow lollipops you can eat And tasty flowers a growin’ at your feet Sailboats sailing on a lemonade lake Sailing through the lemon drop gate To strawberry harbor where you can dock You’ll listen to the song from the teddy bear clock Hot fudge waterfalls flowing down In the distance there’s a gingerbread town With gingerbread girls and gingerbread boys A playroom filled with gingerbread toys Chocolate chip mountains looming high Marshmallow clouds cover the sky A bubble gum sun and a gumdrop moon You won’t stay long, you’ll wake too soon But while you’re there you’ll run and play Until you wake to a brand new day Now sleep little Justin, I love you Your mommy loves you and Grandpa too Hush baby Justin Hush Hush
