Hammer OmeletA Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
Hammer Omelet To make a hammer omelet It really takes some skill One missing ingredient Will make your cat so ill “And I used a hammer On the omelet” full of cheese If you think that’s weird Let me set your mind at ease I cracked the eggs into a bowl With a fork I whipped them good For to make a hefty omelet At the stove I stood It soon began to bubble Smelling so good, I sighed One bubble rose much higher Inside the pan I spied I feared it would escape And I would lose my meal I have to break that bubble You should have heard me squeal I poked it with the fork But it continued to grow I had no other choice you see But use a hammer don’t you know I took special aim Hit that omelet in the pan Cheese and eggs splattered On my kitty cat named Stan The last I saw of that omelet Was at the end of Stan’s long tail
Stan tried to shake it off, ha ha This ends my hammer omelet tale
