Little Japanese Doll

Little Japanese Doll

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Little Japanese Doll

Alone

She sits on the shelf

Small Japanese doll from the east

Carefully

She scoots to the edge to get down

Falling, oh no she’s falling

Fragile

Girl frowns

Watching the doll fall

So quickly

Japanese doll caught by small hands

No mars on her painted face

Girl smiles

Yeah, this poem does create an image in my head having someone catch you while you fall is the interpretation I recive from reading this poem. This extremely pretty with a lot of meaning behind such short stanzas.

This is beautifully done, both form and flow.. You create such a wondrous, vivid imagery in your words.

Beautifully written, so delicately and sweetly like the Japanese doll itself... Great work!
