Milady Weeps

Milady Weeps

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
"

A Sonnet

"

Milady Weeps

Sonnet

Milady weeps under the starlit night

Down her cheeks tears flow like rain

Calling attention to her grief stricken pain

Tears glisten on her face once bright

No not the moonbeams or the starlight

Will soothe Milady, her lover was slain

She calls out his name, but she calls out in vain

Oh ease her pain, bring back to her heart light

Rise up oh knight from the bowels of death

Milady waits under the moon by the sea

Death’s dark door set her knight free

Allow love to live in the warm light of day

Give his heart beat and to his lungs give breath

I pray hear Milady laugh again in her pure sweet way
