Ideas' Demise

Ideas' Demise

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Ideas’ Demise

Jumbled are the words

Ideas not connected

Writers’ dreams die here

Ideas live in

Minds of poetic writers

Keeping words alive

Writer’s block at work

Stifling poetic thoughts

The bringer of death

Deep in the closed mind

Ideas wither away

No more remembered

Death comes to closed minds

Ideas lose their lives here

Lost and forgotten

The flicker is gone

No more poetic writings

Will roll off the tongue

Where are they buried?

These thoughts lost in confusion

In the subconscious

Resurrect these thoughts

Give life to your ideas

Just practice your skill

Discovered new birth

Ideas can never die

Mind ignites the spark

Ideas will live

This flicker ignites a spark

Spark gave back its life

Ideas live on

When hearts and minds connect them

A haiku is born

Author's Note

Nancy Lee Shrader
An idea can never die. I know this because I suffer from short term memory loss from a prescription drug that has been taken off the market. Thoughts and idea may seem to be lost at times, but ignite as a spark, becoming ideas that one day turn into a beautiful poem or story.

Ideas are never lost is a very hopeful thought. They just come back later. Writing them down when you have them is a good idea that I do.
