Springtime

Springtime

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Springtime

Spring comes to the meadow

Melting the fallen snow

That once blanketed the ground

Seed awake from a long winter’s nap

Nature has come full circle round

New shoots push through the earth

Arrayed in green attire

With anticipation of a flower in bloom

Chilled winds warmed by the sun

Carrying through the air their sweet perfume

In the clearing you’ll see

New born creatures of the forest

Venturing out to play in the warm spring air

Mothers stay close protecting their young

As they jump and romp without a care

Oh yes spring has come to the meadow

Can you hear all the sounds?

Fawns and bunnies romping in play

Birds chirping, butterflies flittering

And honey bees buzzing all through the day

Springtime is God’s gift of new life

All cherish this time, winter is gone

Hearts renewed, transformed this spring day

Whispers of love heard on each gentle breeze

Lighthearted fun as they romp and play
