Guidance

 

On the day of his passing

Guidance from above got me through

The day my child went to heaven

He’s in the arms of God, this I knew

 

Months and years down the road

Sometimes the wound still cuts deep

His time was short here on earth

With so many harvests to reap

 

He could have been a doctor

A lawyer or a priest

My expectations were high

But my son is deceased

 

Guidance is from the Lord

Is needed once more

His father has joined him

Playing together on heaven’s shore

 

Guidance came again from above

I’ll join them one day when God takes my hand

But for now I’ll live the way I should live

By living for Christ and taking a stand
