Castle in the CloudsA Poem by Nancy Lee ShraderCastle in the Clouds
Castle in the clouds See my fantasy relived At the rainbow’s end Inside on their thrones King and Queen are holding court A bride for the prince A search must be done And the perfect princess found At a festive ball Beauty like the night As moonbeams sparkle above She’s his destiny Vision to behold In gown of changing colors Wearing glass slippers Dance throughout the night Just until the clock strikes twelve Gown turns to tatters Prince must find her soon Roams the countryside by day Searching for the girl On her tiny foot Slipper fits just like a glove Tattered dress no more Princess of the realm Dances across the ballroom In her wedding gown One day she’ll be queen Of the castle in the clouds At the rainbow’s end
