Worst Memories Healed

Worst Memories Healed

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Worst Memories Healed

Silhouette Clipart - 5

Take my life not his

Let him be all he can be

He’s only a child

It is not to be

God’s in his hospital room

It is time to go

His hand reaches up

Leaving me empty inside

He took the Lord’s hand

My baby is gone

He’s no longer in my arms

Many years to wait

Cancer struck again

His dad took the Lord’s hand too

Leaving me alone

Worst memories fill

My dreams and my waking hours

My lonely heart breaks

Worst memories healed

Because I’ll see them again

When God calls me home

Together at last

Playing games with the angels

Dad David and me
