Prairie Life

Prairie Life

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Prairie Life

Native American Pictures, Images and Photos

Prairie Fires burn hot

Warming the Indian tribe

Will spring ever come?

Winter winds blow hard

In the apache village

Food is scarce now

He is riding guard

Valliant warrior of the tribe

Sees that all is well

On the cooking fire

Squaws will cook a meager meal

Awaiting hunters

Inside warm tepees

Their children play happily

Hear songs in the wind

Wind sings of springtime

Abundant buffalo herds

Verdant green playground
