Haiku Silence Is the Star

Haiku Silence Is the Star

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Silence is a Star

Silence is the star
Kissing a flower with dew
Drizzling from starlight

Silence in the night
Is heard by budding roses
Feeling the moment

Daisies too listen
As the dew falls from the stars
Kissing their petals

Sunflowers reach up
To catch every drop that falls
On each summer night

Purple heather too
Wait for the silent dewdrops
Filling the meadow

Peony blooms wait
As ants and the silent dew
Stars call the ants in the night

Honeysuckle blooms
Sparsely grow on desert sands
Drinking up the dew

Hear the silent stars
Yes, silently, so silent
Kissing each flower

Listen in the night
To star, flower love affair
Stars and flowers unite

I like this haiku string a lot! I just wrote a poem too for this contest. I experimented with repeated rhymes line by line. It wasn't easy but quite challenging.
