Haiku Betrayed

Haiku Betrayed

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Betrayed

I did nothing wrong

Loved you more than my own life

You betrayed my trust

I knew you would fall

Although I hoped I was wrong

Betrayed by a kiss

The price on my head

Thirty pieces of silver

My enemies paid

I was insulted

They beat me almost to death

Crown of thorns I wore

You saw what you did

In the end you were sorry

But it was too late

I waited your call

You never asked forgiveness

Better you weren’t born

I hung on the cross

My entire body in pain

Jeering from the crowd

Forgive them I said

They are ignorant dear Lord

They don’t know their crime

Judas, betrayer

Your greed became your downfall

I Jesus you wronged

I always like your haikus. They are very heartfelt. I would like to make a small suggestion.
"I waited your call
You never ask forgiveness
Better you weren't born"
Maybe, to fit the tense, you could change ask to asked. Just trying to help out.
Beautiful Haiku! =D
