Desert Honeysuckle

Desert Honeysuckle

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Desert Honeysuckle

It’s like air sweetened

By desert Honeysuckle

In the early dawn

Breathe in its sweetness

On the hot and humid sand

Cooling aroma

Honeysuckle Rose

Desert’s flower of the heart

Wraps around the soul

Fragrant flowering bloom

Caught up on the desert breeze

Blows across the sand

Cactus move over

Honeysuckle fills the air

New desert flower

Nature's own perfume. Deserts flower of the heart wraps around the soul. Beautifully stated.

Lovely haikus! The Honeysuckle must be a hardy little flower to withstand the hot desert sun!

This piece makes me want to take a walk and smell the flowers. Of course the type of honeysuckle I am used to is a little different, but this brings back so many memories for me. The imagery is lovely. Well penned.
