Down Country Roads

Down Country Roads

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Down Country Roads

Curving down the mountain
As far as the eye can see
Narrow roads like a path
Connect both you and me

From the winding mountain
To the valley floor below
We cross each other’s path
On our merry way so slow

Country road take us homeward
To all those neighborhoods unseen
Hidden in wooded hollers
To homes so neat and clean
