Christmas Lights Glow Bright

Christmas Lights Glow Bright

sleigh ride

Christmas Lights Glow Bright

I dress warmly tonight
My dample gray pulls the sleigh
A warm blanket across my lap
Singing carols along the way

My hands are warm inside my muff
A fur bonnet on my head
A red scarf around my neck
Comfy in my horse drawn bed

Christmas lights glow bight
Shimmering on bushes and trees
Dancing on the houses
Snowflakes blowing in the breeze

Red, blue, green and gold
Glisten against the night sky
A sight to behold
Blow a frosty breath as we sigh

Twinkle on twinkle off
Lights hanging in line
On houses decorated
In gleaming design

We snuggle under our blanket
Wishing this night would never end
Let the lights go on forever
Just around the bend

I can almost hear reindeer bells
As Christmas lights glow
Shining in my eyes and heart
My heart is all aglow

Giddy up horsy
There's more lights to shine
Glimmering in our hearts
Both yours and mine

Shine on through the darkness
Dance on glittering light
Reflecting off the stars
On this snowy Christmas night

What a fun scene you've painted for us all, Nancy! A ride on that sleigh under some warm blankets and coats would be a perfect trip into yesteryear. This poem is just the sort to read as the holiday season is upon us. Thanks for sharing, Sharon
