Senryū Wisdom

Senryū Wisdom

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
"

A string of Senryū.

"

Senryū Wisdom

haikucherry blossoms

Senryū Wisdom

People who stand in the shadows

Never get burned

But are they happy

People who think

That they walk on water

Usually drown

People's selfworth

Isn't decided by wealth

Nor wealth means selfworth

Love held to tightly breaks

But love not held close

Slips away

Happiness doesn't

Depend on love, but

Love brings happiness

Whispers show love, but

Also bring pain

If whispered in haste

Count your blessings

but do your blessings

Add up your worth

Author's Note

Nancy Lee Shrader
Senryū is a Japanese form of short poetry, similar to haiku. Must be said in one breath. I'm on oxygen so they could have been longer.

It must be said in one breath? It is so beautiful that it took my breath away.
