Wild and Wonderful West Virginia, my home sweet home

Wild and wonderful, hear the babbling brook
Enjoy the view from the New River Bridge overlook
Stand on the mountain; breathe in the fresh clean air
Trees in autumn that our good Lord decorated with flair
Visions of wonder, listen you’ll hear everyone sigh
Imagine this magnificent view through a camera’s eye
Righteous beauty Wild and Wonderful will stand
God holds West Virginia in the palm of His hand
In echoing tones voices carry on the wind over the snow
No hustle and bustle here, things move easy and slow
In this majestic mountain hideaway where my heart belongs
About a place, West Virginia poets, write poems and songs

Wild and Wonderful West Virginia my home sweet home

Author's Note

Nancy Lee Shrader
My poem My West Virginia was chosen by Poetry On the Move to be displayed with artwork on the buses in Morgantown, West Virginia. A very proud honor for me. One of Salvatore Buttaci's poems was also chosen for this honor.
