The Great Temptation

The Great Temptation

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

http://www.missdixonsclass.com/ Cheating on a test

Temptation small

Committing armed robbery

 Temptation Big

The Great Temptation

Temptations great

Temptations small

All leads to sin

And destruction of all

Committing armed robbery

Cheating on a test

Both bad in God's eyes

It wasn't your best

Sin can be erased

By the power of blood

Shed my Savior’s

Redeeming flood

Sin remains

When a door is locked

Unbolt with the key

Or entrance is blocked

Sin corrupts

Leaving a stain

Unable to cleanse

In the pure clean rain

The water of life

Mingled with His blood

Poured from His side

A cleansing flood

Temptations little

Temptations large

Are great in God’s eyes

And leave Satan in charge

Be wash in His blood

Call out His name

Jesus is waiting

To stake His claim

He’ll block Satan’s hold

On your redeemed heart

Fill you with His Spirit

Your soul He’ll impart

Another fine piece of Christian poetry. Your words tale of the merciful blood that we must contact through our obedience to the Holy Scriptures. Nicely done!
