Twilight's Afterglow

Twilight's Afterglow

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Twilight’s Afterglow

Twilight in the afterglow

Emotions trickle within my soul

Colliding with experience

And knowledge

Rippling out of control

Twilight conveys only the magic

Thrilling the heart’s desire

Shadowed in the dimming light

Silhouettes of doubt

Within the magical hour

Twilight glows with whispers

Sweet nothings in the breeze

Hearts on fire

Its burning blaze

Gives way to love with ease

In this twilight hour

Caution tossed to the wind

Love erupts

Explosions ignite

Our love will transcend

A well constructed poem where the good technical writing has not interfered with the emotion of its message. It is good to see the use of half rhymes - they don't sound contrived - as would words which though rhyming perfectly, have obviously been chosen for the accuracy of rhyme than ther contextual suitability. I enjoyed this.
