I Wish I May

I Wish I May

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

stary-night-bg.jpg

I wish upon a star in the darkness of night

Will someone please tell me why do they shine

I must discover where they found their light

Maybe from the sun or perhaps the moon

Why do they glitter and shine so true

I need to know and I want to know soon

Twinkling they sparkle in the sky

Dancing on water, in shimmering design

Gleaming like magic in my true love's eye

I wish I may, I wish I might

          Discover their secret of radiance

                    Discover their secret of light

I fell asleep and in a dream

God said He created each little star

Touched each one with a single moonbeam

In the early morning dawn I recalled his words

He spoke to my heart with a sweetest voice

He created the stars and all of the birds

He didn't stop there ; he created the fish in the sea

And all animals and creeping things across the land

He saw it was good and then created mankind and me

Hi Nancy...indeed God did create all life as well as the Heavens. He's the grand designer and he's the one with the plan for man. Very lovely sweet and soft. Your write flows as a gentle spring down a hillside.

Oh lovely Nancy. This had such a light and airy feel to it and I felt really uplifted as I read
thought this beautiful poem.

You penned it very well, the visions it conjured for me was awesome. I think this is the
loveliest poem about "Stars" I have ever read.

Well done! Thank you for "Keeping the Dream Alive! ~ Helena

This was very charming and whimsical...I found myself smiling at this poem, feeling at peace as I read it. Good thing, too, because I was all depressed before I read this. You cheered me up! :)
