God Won't Ask

God Won't Ask

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

God won't ask

God won't ask if we had money and power

He's only concerned about our soul in our last hour

Were you fighting to remain on top?

Did you step over others, never thinking to stop?

God won't ask if we are beautiful of face

He views only the heart, but if that's the case

How will you measure up under God's watchful eye?

Will your transcening be just pie in the sky?

God won't ask if you attended church each week

Your chuch should have been your life's peak

Each moment your life wasn't a thought in prayer

God, however still loved you and knew you were there

God won't ask about your riches and stuff

Cars homes and boats won't be enough

To open heaven's gates on that glorious day

Accepting His grace is all you must pay

God won't ask if you dressed to the nines

A heavenly robe is the only clothes He designs

Washed in His blood and bathed in His Light

Purity robes, leaving the darkness of night

God won't ask if you made lots of cash

That won't matter in a twinkling flash

Hearts of love, more than riches by far

Holding the hand of the Bright Morning Star

God won't ask if you had a good job

Jesus didn't care about the high position's of the mod

That jeered and called him many bad names

Still, He forgave them to spear them Hell's flames

God won't ask how many called you friend

What matters to God is where your soul will transcend

In heaven with Him or a fiery place

The first of the two receives God's Grace

God won't ask if you lived on just the right street

It matters to God if you're on the right of the judgment seat

Standing in the Light and not the dark

Embedded in your forehead His seal, His mark

God won't ask if you are the right race

All God's children should be deserving of grace

Standing together as one at the throne

Singing loud Amens to the cornerstone

God won't ask why your stalled so long

He'll welcome you home as if you were His all along

First will be last and last will be first

In His kingdom, no one will thirst

God won't ask how many you told

He already knew before you grew old

He knew in the beginning and He knew at the cross

He was naild and speared to suffer your loss

God will ask if you chose the right path

Steering away from the designer of wrath

Unbolted the lock on your heart's door

And opened your soul to its very core

God will know His children by one single deed

For He planted and watered each little seed

The deed is salvation through His only Son

Salvation achieved and your battle He's won

Amen! Amen! and Amen!
