Chaos

Chaos

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Chaos follows through a lifetime of pain

During the storms and the pouring rain

Through the thunder and lightning we cringe

Hoping not to become unhinged

Winds of strife blow hard as chaos grows

Heartaches seem sharper as everyone knows

Chaos has only one purpose this day

To keep us in turmoil all along the way

Confusion, pandemonium, entophy fill out days

Wreking havoc in our lives always

Bedlam, anarchy in a topsy turvy world

Word that come to mind when chaos his hurled

Chaos grows stronger when when faith is lost

Bedlam insues when trust is tossed

Anarchy thrives in Chaos' path

Leaving only Chaos' wrath

We stand in the shadows kneeling in prayer

Praying that God will find us there

Chaos is extinguished when faith endures

Trust in God's Grace reassures

Belief turns chaos on its heels

Hope renews and reveals

God's in His heaven, looking down

Making us strong when chaos is around

"Chaos grows stronger when when faith is lost

Bedlam insues when trust is tossed"

Superlative. I find this to be the thesis statement surrounding this entire piece. Typically, I don't care for experimental font and color play in poetry....but you make this work well with you subject matter. I enjoyed this and I appreciate the closing sentiments. You send the reader to the source of peace. Well done!
