In dark cold waters

Underneath the coldness lies

A creature cold and dark

without evil in its eyes

You'll see it ... in

A fleeting movement ... caught

Out of the corner of your eye ... and

It moves swiftly

Leaving ripples in its wake

Frigid air surrounds it ... and

Flat Top Lake feels the chill

Coldest place in our state

Silent cold is stilled

Snows last the longest

It's the creature's chill ... that

freezes from the bottom ... in

Flat Top Lake, it lives
