Country Roads

Country Roads

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Country roads take us homeward to all those neighborhoods unseen

Winding down New River Gorge as far as the eye can see

From the winding mountain to the valley floor below

Narrow is the path that connect both me and you

We will pass each other on our merry way

Into the back woods of West Virginia

On rocky roads down in the hollers

We hear men laugh in the distance

Standing guard on moonshine stills

Women rocking wee babes

Sing soft lullabies

In warm cabins

Oh so neat

And clean

Sounds a lovely place! If I'm ever lucky enough to get travel to the U.S.
I think WV will be the first place I will visit!! So watch out all you
West Virginians!!

You penned some lovely images here as well as capturing the form so well! Good job!
