cobalt blue

cobalt blue

A Poem by Nan
"

love never goes away, at least not for me..

"

pardon my disappearance

it was not easy to look like I had betrayed you

I felt this misty wall of comfort

cloud, helios, me the dreamer

and so many things we see differently

maybe language, or I'm frightened of loving

someone so far away

after all, you are seventeen

and brilliant

we could never be lovers

and I know my time is better spent

seeking my own kind

I simply can't create walls that hide

another life, or want to decide what I can

and can't say, it's the insanity of love's game

that makes me crazy

so I returned to the sapphire light of my heart

away from the confusion

there between vibrations

and the illusions I accepted as truth

remains the warmth of you

oh, dear..I won't be able to comment on the technique and constructs here..I get too lost in the story..having been there myself...

Lovely, but bittersweet.

For me, this poem seemed to be about the way that our hearts are destined to love some people whether or not a relationship with that person is feasible: for me, the phrase 'the insanity of love's game' expressed everything. I like the trajectory of this poem too how the persona's deserting someone makes them feel as if they've let that person down and yet they have no choice. That great irony of love, I've been there
Anyhow, once again you employ beautiful images,

this misty wall of comfort
cloud, helios, me the dreamer

and the sapphire light of my heart, how suggestive of something blue but something precocious, something to be safeguarded and a stone that is ultimately resilient too.

Nice write Nan, someone did a Beethoven, and whats left if that happens but to disappear?
After all nothing else does, does it, foolish people we are we dont always seem to have a great deal of choice in some matters, such as/is the choices of the heart (whatever that sadistic creature is, sometimes). But then, sometimes I think after glows are great reminder that you're not always your own master, in a way its humbling, no matter how big the fortress is.. I said one time to a friend over some matter of the heart "its a defence mechanism" she said "the most beautiful of hearts dont need them, their too brave" or something to that effect. At the time it was pretty profound, she's much wiser than me.
