bankers can't be blamed

bankers can't be blamed

A Poem by Nan
"

too much talk of money not enough to go around..

"

they say there is a credit crisis:

do you know how copper wire was invented?

they gave two bankers a penny

and told them they had to share it

half a point on a quarter mil is alot of profit

so that loan got sold into those loans

so the stock holders would be happy

the company isn't holding that paper any more

but it's a liar's game

if someone decides to fold

and gamble away your personal 401K

you're just fucked

and that's the way the money brokers have sold

America and the rest of the world

is tipping on the brink of collapse

the golden rule,

he who has the gold makes the rules

and inflating our currency doesn't make it

worth any more, if there is no standard

to prove it's worth but somehow the public

is fooled by that

I think we should start money cooperatives

where no bankers might roam

and talking out of both sides

of your mouth

just isn't allowed.

remember, that if I steal

I can go to prison

but if I'm a banker

I can screw up big time

the feds just bail me out

oh yeah!

You rise such a powerful and interesting point here, Nan. Money makes the rules. 'What is politics but the shadow of Big Business', Joseph Staligitz. In the UK we have adverts on the television everyday about benefit cheats and yet the corporations continue to avoid paying tax. The banks like Leham are bankrupted in America and of course the wealth gap just continues to widen. You've really captured a voice of frustration here and that makes the poem incredibly emotive. I love the image:

I can really imagine that. A great and thought-provoking write.

I had to come and say what I already told you but I leave it here now..the amount of debts and mortgages is ridiculous. Most of people mean the crisis is passing... but I think it is going lot of worse. The two biggest mortgage providers have been propped up, they are allowed to borrow directly. America is in deep trouble. Unfotunately, the rest of us will suffer for its sins.

Another great poem, and it made me think. I think the problem is, after WW2 they printed lots of paper money, but there was no gold behind it. Now the money is coming back to the States... and it has no worth, that's why this inflation and - few oligarchs manipulate all this financial markets they play ping pong how ever they like to - and we all in Europe stick on America's wealth... we feel it secondary in Germany, too. I love how you pick up really brand new and important topics. Great writing. five stars.
