SplendorA Poem by Nance BrodyFor those that like storms
Splendor
Thunder rises above the silence After lightening strikes its light A rumble fades in the distance As the splendor disturbs the night Chorus A bolt of lightening strikes the night Nothing can stand in its path The powerful welding spear of light Connects heaven and earth at last An eerie whistle in the wind As it sways the boughs of pine In the dark I strain to listen Are those sounds only in my mind The storm a splendid show of action Brings everything to a halt It has my full complete attention As I sit and watch its every bolt Heavens above a storm is happening A stunning light show as I look up The sky over head alive and kicking Like a giant over sized hiccup NANCE Brody © 2013 Nancy Read (SOCAN) All Rights Reserved © 2015 Nance Brody |
