‘You and I’A Story by Namita BhaladhareA love story‘You and I’ yes that’s the name of our love story. You became a part of me without my knowledge. I never realized you would be inside me to an extent that all layers of artificiality would disappear and we will become one. How could I ever forget the day we met, my friend told me there is a new boy in the building. Dress with pride he said you are intellectually well aware. I solemnly ignore the first half and lovingly digested the other one. Right from the start I knew there would be something between us. He started another topic to discuss and ignored your name after that. I became more and more curious to know who you are. Series of laughter followed on various events happening around us. And my mind gave a fake smile to all but my heart started a patience journey towards your heart not knowing where it was going. Then you came running upstairs taking the groceries for your house. I still remember your face, not that handsome but I avoided that feature of yours. Strong build body, a good 5 6’ height and a clever face. You looked real! Seeing us a laughing at ourselves, you just stood there to ask a guy his name. But for some reason you misspelled it. The boy to the shock gave a straight face reply and corrected you. But you never paid attention to the details and hurried your way home. I couldn’t take my eyes off you as you moved from one step to another and I could see how turns of the staircase swallowed your shadow. You disappeared in those stairs and my eyes couldn’t figure out where you are anymore. I started to miss you then and long for your arrival again. And my other friends started to mimic you just to spread few more seeds of laughter. I reluctantly joined in but at the same time felt bad as they were laughing at you. It was just beginning of my 8 th grade. To my surprise I came to know that we are in the same class but in a different school. That’s how our love story started right from the start I knew that I found the home for my heart. Color and promises are just beginning to start between us as we were destined to become one. © 2013 Namita BhaladhareAuthor's Note
