Inner meditation

Inner meditation

A Poem by wordsofashrain

Within my walls the emptiness consumes me, gnawing at the remnants left over time.
The hallow confines like weights upon my head pulls me to the ground, while ghostly echoes of the joy once was reverberates off its walls.
Seeping its poison in my subconscious, it plays up on my thoughts as a master puppeteer bending me to his whim.
I dance.

Only to stand dumbstruck when realization hits, that I've been fooled again.
Then it mocks me laughing heartily at my folly.
As the lights flicker dim and the darkness ensues us, I face my foe.
Battle after battle it wounds a little more.
The fight is hard but I never win.
