You

You

A Poem by wordsofashrain

Feather light kisses on my shoulder,
arm around my waist, whispering your adoration,
sharing each other's space.

Your scent evades my senses,
oh euphoric high,
my heart climbs to unknown places
far within me lies.

Don't touch me, I may surrender
open my dark abyss.
Releasing all the anguish and every tear I thought I missed.

Threatening my composure seeking my demise
Why do you want to break me?
My fragility I disguised.

Gallantry my façade, oh beautiful the mask
your warmth its destruction
exposing me at last.

"Handle with care", I've heard them say
Be careful how you tread, all but an empty vessel
you have nothing more to spend.
