Morning Thoughts

Morning Thoughts

A Poem by Conor Bracken

Blaring light through the window

Blood is acid coursing through my veins

Brain pounding swollen mind racing in circles

Light too white too bright to see

Loud sounds the dog pound the roosters crow

Laying beside a mistake too late to take back my heart sinks

Take another drink

Ten more so I can think

Tiny conscious starts to fade

Now I can start the day

Isn't it a tragic circle that addiction forms, keeping us from ever moving forward, just round and round in circles.
The language is perfect for the content, excellent
