Shedding

Shedding

A Poem by L.D.

Darling don't you weep for me
Don't weep for the husk you see
When I shed this skin I can become whole again
Your affection is well received
Although it is not welcome in this kingdom of the heartless
When I shed this skin I can become warm again
Darkest eyes of the coldest color are ever so inviting
Invite me in but I cannot stay
I'm on a quest for a better skin to fit in
When I shed this skin I can fill this whole again
